Here We Are

Amy, Alana, me, Josh
In front of the Western Catholic Reporter, after our appointment with the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton.

Josh Canning is Alpha's National coordinator for Alpha for Catholics. He was here for three days this week. He and I had a number of appointments with various Catholic parishes in the Edmonton area. Every one of them was extremely encouraging. There is a lot of awareness out there of Alpha as an effective tool for evangelization, and a certain eagerness among pastors to get Alpha going in their parishes. Some are already going ahead, most notably, Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) in Sherwood Park. The driving force in that parish is Alana (in the picture above.)

Amy, (also above) is our Alpha Youth coach. It is her passion to see Alpha in every high and junior high school (both Catholic and public) in the province, and equipping students to run it.

After a meeting in the Archdiocesan office, we went over to the offices of the Western Catholic Reporter where a reporter interviewed Josh. We hope to see the interview featured in a future issue. Although the interview was with Josh, I may even have contributed one quote to the article when I said that Alpha is, "...evangelization for those who don't have the gift of evangelization."

So please pray for fruit from Josh's visit - that Alpha would be run in more Catholic parishes and that many more would come, or come back to, the Lord.
